BLIND MODERATORS.

there will be accounts made...

SeniorMod_ONE
SeniorMod_TWO
SeniorMod_THREE

Moderator_ ONE
Moderator_TWO
Moderator_Three

JuniorMod_One
JuniorMod_two
JuniorMod_three

These accounts will be the ONLY accounts aside from admin to have any power whatsoever. each person promoted to moderator would be assigned one of these accounts to use when moderating or cleaning the forums. This way, the tag is no longer a status symbol. the moderators and such will not be being personally attacked constantly. And hopefully there will be less drama

Rule number one of BLIND MODERATORS:

dont speak about blind moderators... in otherwords... noone is to know which moderator is who. the moderators can maintain a more fair and unbiased approach to upholding the rules. Less favoritism.

just a thought though smile

Nick already suggested this and I do not agree with this. I worked hard on my account to get it to this status and mods are supposed to have personality and an identity beside them. Just my opinion.

i understand where your coming from. but at the same time, that personality and stuff causes drama. people jump on anyone with a tags Shiznit constantly over stupid things... hard to attack someone on a personal level if they dont have a personality smile

Also anonymity makes for a more just system.. remember there is a reason lady liberty carries two scales and is blind folded smile

I wouldn't mind moderating from another account.

I think it would be pretty easy to guess who most of the mods are anyway though.

i dont know, see the mods would only post like the simplistic cookie cutter answers on their blind account. then they can switch over to their regular account to actually post.

like say, you were moderating under the assumed named "moderator_ten"

you come across a thread that contains flaming and needs to be closed.. you would post the reply.

Rule number # (i dont know which rule it is and i feel lazy atm lmao) : flaming outside the battlefield

then you would close the thread. that way it remains anonymous smile

Well, I don't think all mods would be able to moderate with only cookie cutter answers.

Some mods would be easy to spot since they moderate in other languages.

This
Someone is always going to have something negative to say about anything that happens on the site. My point of view is let them hate. Also as long as it stays in the battlefield then it's okay.

Well, if this new concept does not please our current lovely mods than might i ask that we set a new standard for ethics and reliability? With every mishap , mistake, or harsh word. our user base loses respect for our staff.

Each generation of staff has not made it easy for the next generation to recover from the loss of respect. From what i see, we are at an all time low as far as user respect for the staff..

No more clean/shane/ti/whomever else..

no more ricky vs tyrael battles

no more mod vs mod flame wars

no more crazy musical tag games

no more annoyances smile

We were on the right path for awhile, then i left and when i came back it was utter hell. left again, came back and it was getting better.. then i left again and came back and it was in the grips of scandal and chaos.....

As staff, the team must set the standard for what is expected of the members. Morally upstanding, high integrity, PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS, peace, cooperation, and fun. These are what we need to promote.

So here is my plea to all who enjoy using this site. Let's work together to make it better. to make it as good as it can be. I enjoy the people here, i enjoy the staff, i enjoy the atmosphere and i enjoy the freedoms.

We got this guys, we just have to work together and strive to better our community!

/pep talk

people fighting for this so called status is what causes most issues here

also Lulz at megafusions post

edit: also if this was added we could regulay change the mod names like once every few weeks

that would make it harder to track who is who and even have some users share the same mod account

No. Just remove that every user can view warns of other users and disable the "xxx was given a warn by ..." under posts.

I disagree 100% lol and it would be a pain to switch from main to moderator account. It's just a huge pain and I don't think it will better the situations for people always nagging at our actions. As staff we should be working as a team no matter what smile. I just worked hard to have my name represented as a respected staff member. :p

Realistically you don't have to go through all these measures of covering identities to ensure "unbiased/fair" moderating if mods could just handle responsibility and not act like immature tantrum throwing clowns. Honestly if their identities are known it should even make for better moderation since there would be accountability (not that accountability always means something here). With that said, there have been good additions in the form of crystal, giantbob, nate2.0 (hopefully 2.0) and it's about time there were some drama free (if nate1.0 doesn't come back) smart mods.

@ Felix your post has absolutely nothing to do with this topic

That's not a good idea mainly because if I wanted to trade with someone and they have a warn, I'd like to know why that person has a warn.

__________________________________________________________

And, I have never been attacked as a moderator.
In fact I usually get a lot of nice comments.
Users pm me a lot thanking me.

And even when I hand out a warn, I'm nice about it.
So no one gets mad.

Just don't act like an asshole/powertripping mod, and you're good imo.

e/ also, wouldn't we have problems with the auto lock feature?

It shouldn't be forced.
If someone wants a hidden account, let them get one. Not everybody wants it, so no.

some mods are scared to warn people and want to do it from anonymous accounts
some people think anonymous mods would make for a more fair forum
on the other hand some people think they deserve "reputation" for what they've "earned"
others think that mod identities should be known so there is accountability among the e-thugs
some people don't know wtf they think
