i think we should only leave smileys like this: 
and throw out all long ones , they are just used for spam nothing else
they dont even show any emoticons.
or just allow that kind of smileys in battlefield and not in general chats /trading etc.

In the event someone wants to spam that box it wont matter if its a large img or txt.
Spam is spam.
I think thats also considered a forum imo, if you click the link at the top here http://www.d3jsp.org/shoutbox_max.php
Click that and it becomes a whole new forum 
ofc you may have known that, but anyhow there is no need for this.
someone can spam with little smileys as much as a large or big smiley or Text.

I think thats the only way to restrict large img's and smileys in the chat box.
It's with the board, so if they are not allowed then there will be no smileys or bb code or html.
Which would restrict img's of items from being posted in trade forums.
