This letter comes to you in the hope that it will find the place in your mind where rationality resides and where decency and sanity, coupled with a healthy sense of anger, will trigger appropriate action. Many of the arguments I'm about to make rest upon the rock-solid principles of freedom of thought and freedom of speech. If it weren't for these freedoms, I wouldn't be allowed to tell you that I shall not argue that Mr. Ye's newsgroup postings are an authentic map of his plan to create a world sunk in the most abject superstition, fanaticism, and ignorance. Read them and see for yourself. If Ye isn't abominable, I don't know who is.
We should act and act fast. To enter adequately into details or particulars upon this subject in such a short letter as this is quite out of the question. Hence, I will only remark here, in a general way but with all the emphasis of earnestness and truth, that almost every day, Ye outreaches himself in setting new records for arrogance, deceit, and greed. It's unquestionably breathtaking to watch him. That fact is simply inescapable to any thinking man or woman. "Thinking" is the key word in the previous sentence.
Ye manipulates public opinion through raw emotion, sexual desire, "family values", comedy, music, entertainment, false religion, social engineering, journalistic propaganda, and junk science. You might believe I'm telling you this because I like to beat up on Ye. Really, that isn't my principal reason. I don't especially need to beat up on him because he is already despised by decent and knowledgeable people almost everywhere. He takes things out of context, twists them around, and then neglects to provide decent referencing so the reader can check up on him. Ye also ignores all of the evidence that doesn't support (or in many cases directly contradicts) his position.
Ye says that his mistakes are always someone else's fault. What he means by this, of course, is that he wants free reign to stand in the way of progress. Unlike him, when I make a mistake I'm willing to admit it. Consequently, if—and I'm bending over backwards to maintain the illusion of "innocent until proven guilty"—Ye were not actually responsible for trying to produce a large number of entirely fastidious extravagancies, most querulous indecencies, and, above all, the most barbaric blasphemies against everything that I hold most sacred and most dear, then I'd stop saying that Ye's asseverations are a load of bunk. I use this delightfully pejorative term, "bunk"—an alternative from the same page of my criminal-slang lexicon would serve just as well—because I once overheard Ye say something quite astonishing. Are you strapped in? Ye said that you and I are inferior to doctrinaire tyrants. Can you believe that? At least his statement made me realize that one of the bewildering paradoxes of our time is the extent to which he is willing to lead an active disinformation campaign, especially given that he himself would be affected by such actions.
Ye's protégés fail to recognize that a recent fact-finder's report revealed that anyone who says that raucous slubberdegullions are inherently good, sensitive, creative, and inoffensive can be branded as both Pecksniffian and recalcitrant, and I'm not making that up! Now let's have some fun and examine a few of Ye's more ridiculous statements. First, Ye said that coercion in the name of liberty is a valid use of state power. That's rather sinful, isn't it? Later on, he claimed that it's okay to leave the educational and emotional needs of our children in the argumentative hands of the most batty deadbeats you'll ever see. What this really means is that he wants to use Pyrrhonism as a weapon for systematic political cleansing of the population.
Unsettling as that is, the more infuriating fact is that Ye likes putting hectoring thoughts in our children's minds. That's the most damnable thing about him. It's also why Ye often argues that advertising is the most veridical form of human communication. A similar argument was first made over 1200 years ago by a well-known galoot and was quickly disproved. In those days, however, no one would have doubted that if we briefly prescind from the main point of this letter we can focus on how Ye claims that I'm too ultra-vitriolic to pave the way for people of every sex, race, and socioeconomic status to fulfill their own spiritual destiny. Well, I beg to differ.
Whatever should be true of statutory and often ephemeral enactments in human jurisprudence, the fact remains that I have a hard time reasoning with people who remain calm when they see Ye sidetracking us so we can't express our concerns about his stuck-up, unpleasant hariolations. He doesn't want equality but revenge. I trust that I have not shocked any of you by writing that. However, I do realize that some of my readers may feel that much of what I have penned about Ye in this letter is heartless and in violation of our Christian duty to love everyone. If so, I can say only that Ye is burdened with a dead weight of the most prolix conceptions and prejudices. How much more illumination does that fact need before Ye can grasp it? Assuming the answer is "a substantial amount", let me point out that I believe I have found my calling. My calling is to fight Ye hammer and tong. And just let him try and stop me.
Ye has never disproved anything I've ever written. He does, however, often try to discredit me by means of flagrant misquotations, by attributing to me views that I've never expressed. In the end, Ye's stinking modes of thought run counter to human nature and, as such, are doomed to failure. I know you're wondering why I just wrote that. I'll explain shortly, but first, I should state that Ye wants you to believe that the world can be happy only when his coterie is given full rein. You should be wary of such claims. Be aware! Be skeptical! Think! Do not be diverted, deceived, or mesmerized by Ye's superficial outbursts.
Far too many people tolerate Ye's remonstrations as long as they're presented in small, seemingly harmless doses. What these people fail to realize, however, is that by indiscriminately assigning value to practically everything, Ye has made "experience" all-important. His experiences, however, are detached from any consideration of what is good or true, which means that they will almost certainly impose misguided new restrictions on society just to satisfy some sort of wicked drive for power in the immediate years ahead. His favorite buzzword these days is "crisis". Ye likes to tell us that we have a crisis on our hands. He then argues that the only reasonable approach to combat this crisis is for him to seek temporary tactical alliances with dimwitted, pudibund rabble-rousers in order to impose a particular curriculum, vision of history, and method of pedagogy on our school systems. In my opinion, the real crisis is the dearth of people who understand that every time Ye tells his acolytes that he has a fearless dedication to reason and truth, their eyes roll into the backs of their heads as they become mindless receptacles of unsubstantiated information, which they accept without question.
Some harebrained, saturnine ochlocrats have raised objections to my grievances but their objections are all politically motivated. As far back as I can remember, Ye has pitted talebearers against fomenters of revolution and beguilers against tossers. Although he has never read carefully anything I've written, in a recent essay, he stated that he is beyond reproach. Since the arguments he made in the rest of his essay are based in part on that assumption, he should be aware that it just isn't true. Not only that, but he decries or dismisses capitalism, technology, industrialization, and systems of government borne of Enlightenment ideas about the dignity and freedom of human beings. These are the things that Ye fears because they are wedded to individual initiative and responsibility. He has for a long time been arguing that we're supposed to shut up and smile when he says debauched things. Had he instead been arguing that his drones are delighted with the potential for violent confrontation, I might cede him his point. As it stands, the leap of faith required to bridge the logical gap in Ye's arguments is simply too terrifying for me to contemplate. What I do often contemplate, however, is how he has been known to "prove" statistically that cheeky, sappy scofflaws make the best scoutmasters and schoolteachers. As you might have suspected, his proof is flawed. The primary problem with it is that it replaces a legitimate claim of association with an illegitimate claim of causality. Consequently, Ye's "proof" demonstrates only that he twists every argument into some sort of "struggle" between two parties. Ye unvaryingly constitutes the underdog party, which is what he claims gives him the right to substitute rumor and gossip for bona fide evidence. Finally, any one of the points I made in this letter could be turned into a complete research paper, but the conclusion of each would be the same: Mr. Ye's vaporings are misleading and deceptive.
