Well I am not a staff so I don't know but Pinko is staff and is asking for a topic to be closed, a scam topic. So I am assuming staff cannot close topics
Staff should be able to close topics if they feel the need to do so.. _____________________

I think that's a good and bad idea
First of all Staff shouldn't be allowed to do this , we are not MOD we are something like helpers . Only MODS should have that rights .
For another point of view it's usefull , becosue when the MODS are offline we , the Staff members can secure the board. I think Tramway should decide who to be MOD and who to be Staff
I can't say yes or no , becosue i'm member of the Staff team and my oppion won't be right . |

It would just be convenient for staff to be able to close spam topics or topics that are not allowed and not right _____________________

Idk, they are sort of more helpers, sort of like padwans to the mods if you know what I mean
I would have to vote no on it _____________________

I would have to vote no on it | Yes, and as a helper it would be helping if they closed threads that shouldn't be open little stuff like that is helping so helpers as you put it should be allowed to do so. _____________________

I disagree
Staff has their purpose to help others in any kind of fashion they can, not to sure what else this rank does but you should work for what rank you want aka jr mod/mod ect ect, someone should see this and give you a promotion, I see no reason in having staff has moderator privileges at the least,
In my personal opinion I think there should be more moderators since this forum is alot more active then most, or have a rank called under review - where that person is a moderator in training In a certain section, for example all trading forums perhaps.
A: if he doesnt do the job correctly after 2-4weeks ect ect he/she looses they're privledges and gets demoted back to group Members
B: he/she does well and IS active enough, gets promoted to xx moderator rank/group to better this community

Here i can't agree with you about the MOd testing period . To be MODERATOR means that you already showed you'r skills and that you are enough trustable for this job . Also all from the staff members i know has "their own" forum to moderate . So if there is a option for closing topics in the whole d3jsp board that will be only plus . |

staff tags are basicly like jm tags just without the green name change
but both of them can only close threads in the section that they moderate
just like moderators can only close a thread where moderators moderate
also if staff could do everything a mod or sen mod could do
there might as well just be one tag |

i would half to disagree with you
staff is moreless a test mod to see how active and what kind of a job thay do so thay should not have the right to close topics. _____________________ I Do Not Suffer From Insanity, I Enjoy Every Minute Of It. |

Not actually sure what the con's of this would be. Staff members currently have their own forum to look after, but it seems kind of weird since I'm sure they all look at other forums from time to time other than their own. Giving power to close topics would more or less help the forum, unless they abuse it for whatever odd reason that is. |

I am just saying it would be convenient for them to be able to do it for those occasions that no moderators are on and it is an illegal/scam thread.. _____________________
