I don't mean to spam, I hope you can appreciate this as a free bump but I have a question about dota as I am tempted to buy it. (i've only seen a few game play vids but I am well accustomed to LoL)

I didn't know you could trade items, and that they're unique to accounts. I was curious how that works?
Like in LoL you buy items from the shop each match and you start out with none each game.
From what I understand in your post, you can have items that boost things before going into the game/at start?
Or are they pretty much the equivalent to talents and runes except tradable?
