If the government bails out these companies once, whats to stop these companies from working with a safety net like this?
And you can't talk comparison between govt. bailouts for coporations vs social security, the sheer numbers of people it helps vs the amount of money spent is completely lopsided.
Quite frankly I'm appalled at this bail out shit in a free enterprise system. I don't give two shits how much it's going to hurt is in the here and now. Think about how it's going to hurt is 100 years down the road when other big companies go up end like this, are we going to have to bail them out too like we DON'T bailout smaller companies?

I completely agree Keefer.
Though, I don't think anger is the solution my friend. To quote JFK, "If a peaceful solution is not possible a violent one is inevitable."
I hope we can discuss this in a civilized manner. I wish to do my political debating here because the other site is full of juveniles who flame and spam up the place cause dumbass paul removed the battlefloor or whatever it was called.
But seriously, if we allow these guys room to fuck up, they will work like they can fuck up all they like and get away with it.... which would be fine and dandy... BUT THEY ARE FUCKING UP THE PLACE IN THE PROCESS!!
And moreover the govt. isn't bailing out all the small companies that make up 90% of all the companies in America when they fold.
Why provide the safety net for the rich ones? Sounds like some smoke is being blown up some asses in this country.

My dad owns a grading company. As everyone knows, the housing market is shit right now. So were barely holding on. If we go bankrupt, does the gov't come bail us out??!!....NO they come take all of our shit!!!.....All our gov't wants is 2 classes of ppl. lower class and filthy stinking rich class......middle class is dieing sad to say  |

Very True. I am a slum lord (not really but I own multiple homes) and atm the market is so bad that I only have 2 of 6 in Florida that are occupied and 2 of 2 in Tennesee that are occupied..
Fuck George Bush, even tho my ex girlfriend is a douche bag I am at least glad her cousin is the new governor of Florida instead of Jeb Bush (our prez's brother)

Wow, I was pretty upset about the bailout too. I'm pretty sure these companies being bailed out were really important to the US economy. In other words, if we would've let them go bankrupt, it would have destroyed our economy. So, instead, the burden rests upon all Americans. Yep it sucks, but it's better than the alternative of our economy completely collapsing. Pretty sure we would have all been screwed.
On a completely unrelated not, I'm pissed off about social security. I wish the government would do something about it. I'm paying into the system for the baby boomer generation, and there isn't even going to be any money in the system when I retire.  |

Free enterprise system? WHere are you coming from? We have never been free enterprise. China is more free enterprise. You in America are free to start your business, and then be bent to the rail of everyone wanting your money to do thing for themselves or you. If you own a business you have responsibilities ect, and you have no right to be bailed out. However when you have a large percentage of people relying on you for their livelyhoods, it is the duty of the government of the people to bail them out to rescue the people. You know where the govt's power comes from right? The people. Well, when the companies that hold our mortgages and stuff fail, then we will as welll. Therefore bail them out, save us as well.
