Personally I prefer blizzard over orb for mfing. Lightning is also very nice if you have infy on the merc.
Lightning gives you the possibility to kill shenk and eld, which is kinda nice, and also kill countess faster.
Personally I would go with blizzard if you want a cheap build and vita lightning if you want a little more expensive build.

agreed , light sorc without infy isnt that nice
but blizz soso has good damage, but cant take over countess and cold immunes
I still prefer blizz sorc

orb is pretty good you can cast few and every1 is dead
and blizz takes a while to cast and its hard to kill mosters that move a lot

For Mfing is definitely vitality blizzard..
ES sorcs are mainly used for dueling because PvM mana burn monsters would kill you in a second

Orb is king, its very reliable, very fast, and very powerful. A straight on orb does more damage than it says it does in the little box, otherwise killing a boss would take forever.. Blizz, its inaccurate, slower to cast, less reliable.
Orber can do everything in nm + andy/mephy/summoner in hell.. blizz can do the same thing but at a higher risk.... orb only requires 57 pts to be maxed (less if you have pt gear) therefore more pts can either be put into a hybrid with fire for immunes (so you can include eld and shenk) or defense if your a hc player.
20 for ice bolt
20 for orb
17 for cold mastery (17 = 100% , which is all your really need, more is nice but 100% works just fine)

i disagree, my orb shoots faster than blizz, and occassionally i double orb, which makes it easier

Hmm I dunno...Orb is kind of hard mfing unless you kill mobs and shit.
Doesnt seem like a fast way to MF.
Lightning is pretty decent without infinity as long as you dont run into light immunes
Maybe dual elements > like orb/meteor

i can understand where your coming from. orb has a lower damage ratio but when it comes to safe boss mfing orb is GG for its cost. alot of ppl go orb fb, can get like a 2k fb going on along with a heavy damage orb.. bosses can be slightly slower than others but this differnce can be made up in play style.. for myself when im orbing i tend to tele on top of the boss let merc distract static. tele off and then throw like 1-2 orbs and its dead
so its like a 1minute or less process for any boss, my issue with blizz is you can cast 20 blizz on a boss and if you dont get a good blizz spawn, it wont be hit once lol
