I've got 500$ from the d3 RMAH, I'm considering buying a copy of d2 and trying that. I played it a while back, and only got to nightmare.
Any thoughts? |

If you buy diablo 2 then either play with friends or not at all.
Pubs are lame, people are dumb.
No one plays legit.
90% are bots. or are botting.
imo i wouldn't go back

Totally agree except on the fact that no one was playing legit.
I did =)
If you want to play this game with friends for the fun, that could be an "interressant" deal.
For every other purposes, this game won't match what you're looking for.
Anyways you would have better to buy an earlier game than the old d2.

Diablo 3 also has bots.
I still like d2 better then d3..
I really lost interest in both though now..
I was quite addicted to d2 and now d3 came and broke that addiction however d3 made me loose interest all together so meh.
I played legit , had a fun time killing baal bots lol xD

Diablo II Non ladder is a mostly over run by mf bots, but if you play Ladder alot more people play that.

All parts of D2 is full of spam bots. It's annoying, but people are still buying up items, therefor there will be bots advertising.
So yes, the community is still largely intact even after D3 release. Hell, I'm even going back to D2 for the pvp. Mfing in D3 is boring.
On that note, I have a D2 + LOD key for sale if you need.

though the only bots that annoy me are the spammers
