mcfee as long as it's updated works well when its set on high.
I have gotten a bug before, but that was due to me over riding the security features on mcfee.

I am a Avast follower. Unlike AVG, I've never had it cause crashes. It's very resource-efficient, unlike some AV programs (*cough*Norton*cough*), and rock-solid-stable.
