Its just so unbelievable to me, i've never experienced anyone in my close family die yet.
I only knew J_Kwon online but it still shakes me up that he died...he was so young too

I don't understand why people get upset when other people die. You need to realize everyone dies and quit acting like everyone's life is important.

First off, Yes everyone dies. If you die of old age then you had a good life
But whats wrong with mourning for the dead?
Also he was very young, he hasnt even lived his life yet..he was only about to begin

If you die of old age then there might be something to mourn. He was just another kid that died. He hasn't accomplished anything. Hundreds of kids die every day, just because he was a white kid in a first world doesn't make his death anymore important than anyone else's.

well yeah his death is obviously not more important than that of a starving african child. however his death is certainly more humbling and felt than an african child because he was a young kid whom many could relate to (poker). |

I'm not saying the death of a starving african is important. They are both equally irrelevant which is why this j_drown kid shouldn't get anymore attention than the africans.

right. their level of importance/pointlessness is equal.
but as a human, unless you're a robot or someone with (inhuman) superior morals, when you lose your best friend or someone you can relate to with on a direct level - you can't help but feel under different circumstances it easily could have been you that died.
sure that idea (you dying) would be equally pointless for the fate of human society (unless you were part of that 1% that makes a difference in the world)... but evolution tells us we want to live at any cost. that mindset that has persisted for hundreds of millions of years (or whenever the first mammals fucked) isn't going to be erased with a couple thousand years of "superior thinking". |
