Pen tool
Lots of anchors (when you left click it creates an anchor) around the edges of what you want to render
Right click -> Make selection
'M' key (will switch to marquee tool)
Right click -> Select inverse
Delete
Don't feather it.
It's best if you cut out smaller pieces rather than try to do the whole image at once. _____________________

Yeah it works pretty good,depending on the difficulty of the render i use various methods ones with a lot of hair or curves i use the pen tool because its the cleanest,for easier ones i use the extract method or masking method _____________________

Lol.
Pen tool is not good for things with a lot of hair (detailed/frayed hair, not just solid edge hair).
Pen tool is good for things with solid and defined edges.
I never bother trying to render hair, I just work with the stock. _____________________
