I downloaded brushes but have no idea how to put them into photoshop
or do you have to load them every time using brush load menu?

Open your brush
There should be a little arrow that will open a menu when you are looking at your brushes.
Then load brush = Success!

Took me a while to figure it out too. T_T

Depends. Mine is a 'free' version, so it doesn't work very well.
So usually if I restart PS/my computer, I lose em all. ;P

there are to ways
one is to add to your current brush list(lose when change it) thats the way nyuu said
the other is to add it on its own brush list(you can change during all you got added) go to your photoshop folder > presents > brushes and add them there
then you press f5 in photoshop(maybe other button if mac on the little button on the right top with a arrown showing down and 3 lines after it
there you'll find al your brushes
