So Freaking what? We were attacked, yeah, guess what? We have committed atrocities to others on this scale now, in the past, and we most likely will continue doing this, so long as our market is what makes our decisions for us. Let them build their mosque there, and let them enjoy using it. That is the reason them terrorists hate us because we are hypocritical, the whole american logic and all. We say that we value freedom, then we have these teabagger douches and people spout off against religious freedom and it only serves to embolden the terrorists to steel their resolve against us.

an issue blown out of proportion by conservative fanatics.

first of all the mosque isn't 2 blocks away from the WTC, it is 7.
second of all, there is already a mosque there that is 2 blocks away, that has been there for 10 years, which is being closed (this is basically just the new and improved version, and already moved farther away)
third it can hardly be called a mosque. the top floor of the 16 story building is a mosque. the other 15 sites are for education of various arts, and like 5-6 dedicated to culinary arts

bunch of rednecks yell zomg terrorists taking over NYC and it's actually pathetic that some educated people fall for it before getting all of the facts. and before i get flamed for being some kind of terrorist myself, just know i'm atheist and this is a conflict of principles more than anything else. it is not ok to discriminate on the basis of biased synthesized fear.
