| In vista the latest patch won't allow you to play without the cd. Anybody know a way around this ? |

well,, I played SC/BW on VIsta Bussines .. without any problebs.. just some Color Errors..
Update your vista or get the latest SC/BW patch |

Have you tried running it as an administrator? Ive also heard that running safemode with networking fixes some problems

Though vista gives some annoying graphic errors, I found that taking the broodwar disk <assuming> copying the INSTALL.EXE into the starcraft file and renaming it BroodWar.mpq, that's M P Q, worked out well enough for me. If you've tried that alredy then I don't know how to help you out, and sadly I have too much else to do to bother to find out, goodluck. P.S. If you can't find a broodwar disk, you could probly download it or find the individual file online over google.com or something.

Kronosdor... are you aware that A: he's using Vista as his main Os and B: the cost of a fresh (legal) Xp Os disk? If you aren't or aren't willing to pass on your copy of Xp then I suggest you unburry your head and go for a swan dive into an abysmal pit... sorry if that sounded harsh but honestly... not everyone is capable of getting their hands on Xp considering many/all stock computers come with Vista Home and Xp is an additional charge of, some/most places upwards of $100?
