your idea isnt fair for other jsp members... just because you donate fg and make builds/guides doesnt mean you can get upper advantage in trading...

I don't make builds, my idea is based on the people who help the site, in example donate. Or make builds or guides or any other form of help to the site are rewarded by their helpful posts. Aka .5 fg for posts in helpful places. This is just a baby step I'm proposing because I'm not sure tramway wants to do this because it has been brought up in the past. So I'm trying to make you both happy. If it were up to me all posts would count for nothing.

new pollution makes a good point, keep it as a reward system. Those that either help the members of the site or donate to the site should receive certain benefits... same as real life, if you walk into mcdonalds you can eat ketchup and talk to people untill your heart explodes.. but if you pay 3$ you can get a meal AND talk to everyone...

maybe in more sections than just what he said, maybe have the sections that still give fg something like:
Rules and Support
Builds And Guides
Community Service
Donor Forum
maybe one more(just cant decide which one)

In those sections you can get .5 simply because the nature of the subsection is to help users or the site. Those areas would be more strictly policed for spam and the rest of the forum would be post count only.. The trading does suck but, we simply dont have the numbers of d2 players to do the trading, there are like 5 people that trade in the sections. Why alienate the rest of the site for 5 people....

Do you think this is fair? 5 people change how 40+ deal with the site? (sorry little throwback to your comment lol)

Ok i am done with my rambling opinion.. in otherwords if you do take the .5 off, leave it open for some places simply to promote helpful activity.

Yes exactly what I meant pillo. hehe ya i dont post extremely often so when i do i like to be thorough, especially in site bugs and suggestions because if your not thorough you will get like 20 "wtf are you saying" posts lol

but kound, you need d2 players as well, d2 discussion area and d3 areas are relatively small groups on here, a solid trading system (aka prices) would invite more members but will it be enough to make the loss of fg posting on other areas of the site worth it?

at the moment there are a couple reasons for fg (atleast in my opinion)
1.) expression of minamilistic personality ( changing your name color, giving yourself a title, etc)
2.) Presents, its always nice to receive something and to give.
3.) donations, helping those in need to buy an item or one of the above numbers, this counts towards like "you did a really good job and you arent charging for XXXXXXXX i shall donate to you".
4.) (and last) game items, mainly because at the reset of ladder i was trying to buy and sell items.. well by the time i had a seller or a buyer lined up, i had already either found the item or said "F$%^ It" to waiting so i ended up backing out on a lot of trades because of the huge time lag, atleast in my own case if i am looking for an item its because i have already spent hours looking for it and am just plain tired of trying to mf it. So i try to buy it, i dont care where it comes from i just want it, and whoever can bring me said item fastest and at a good price will get my business. Its like mcdonalds, yes they have a double cheeseburger(minus a slice of cheese) for a dollar but if it took 3 days to get that burger would it really be worth it? when you can pay 2$ for one in 5 minutes?

RAMBLING, IM STOPPING NOW, HOPE IT MAKES SENSE...

TL;DR

are you sure you want to do this? Ill back you up if you are one hundred percent sure after thinking it over in all directions for 5 minutes that you want to do this. once the fg per post disappears... its gone, it could be put back but it wont be.....
