http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Find your router on this list; Click on Warcraft III once you're on your own router.
It helped me out because it's really in detail with how to forward specifically with your router. _____________________

Oh also, one other thing is that you should forward the ports in your Network Connections settings as well...
Basically you have two options.
1. Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Your Connection Here
2. Right-Click connections -> Properties
3. Advanced
4. Settings
5. Turn Firewall OFF.
or, if you want to be safer...
1. Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Your Connection Here
2. Right-Click connections -> Properties
3. Advanced
4. Settings
5. 'Exceptions' Tab
6. Add Port...
7. Go through and individually add...
- WC3 TCP 6112
- WC3 TCP 6113
... up to 6119
and
- WC3 UDP 6112
- WC3 UDP 6113
... up to 6119.
Hope this helps...
Basically what you wanna see is a list that looks like... this:

turn off windows firewall and get a real working software
otherwise do as Bleaugh explained
+ if you use a router you will need to open a port for wc3 aswell.
to do that you need to know your router ip + pw (if you dont know ask your mom/dad/admin)
there you need to open the port 6112 or the port that you chose in the game settings
options->gameplay at the low bottom |

| Often the problems start with you having a router, or your port is functioning weirdly with your WC3 ports and such. |
