guy is a fool

ofc gold prices dropped MASSIVELY.
he is a damn fool to have bought 100 accounts to farm gold.

for one, the game has only been out for a few weeks anyone with sense would expect the prices to drop.
two, the RMAH isn't even installed yet, so expect the gold market to get worse. prlly drop more then 50%. people are buying gold vs cash, to get items the want. creates a demand for gold. RMAH effectively stops that. demand goes down, supply goes up.

look, when the RMAH opens, ALL these people paying cash for igg to get items will stop.
it will be cash for items.

that takes all these gold farmers and other gold sites out of the mix. no demand for igg, except to craft.

gold value will drop a lot, again.

blizzard failed at making gold worth something on diablo.

how did people not expect there to be a huge gold bubble on release? do they teach economics in school anymore?

They're definitely called Professional farmers for a reason. They're saving gold so they can buy highend gear and legendaries in the Gold Auction house and sell it on the Real Money Auction House once it goes live. As said in the interview, if the farmers fail to make their money, Blizzard failed their game too. Interesting philosophy, and I think they are fking douchebags for ruining the economy, but I reckon its about right.
