i used to have a sorc that could drain even a es sorc pretty fast with a direct hit

though it was a pain in the ass to get a true direct hit

only real use ive ever seen for a iceblast sorc is tppk of bots

and tbh its been so long since ive played d2 i would probably epicly fail at the controls nowadays its been a long long time

and 50k of fire damage may not knock them out instantly but it would still kill them pretty fast and es doesn't block all damage just most

also this sorc was a es build as well as the build would of just been retarded as a vita since warmth was maxed and such

( really why build a vita es is so good >_> )

also the damage i said was a partialy geared one the one i was using got to that but it never had the really good gear if i remember right it would be possible to do 60 or 70k a second on a good one ( i forgot which its been to long ) but id rank any build good that can solo ubers

and getting a hit landed is a pain in the ass but you don't have to get close i used to be in duel games and would accidently kill a random person i wasn't aiming for since standing in a firewalls sorc firewall for just a couple of seconds = dead ( stack 2 on top of each other and its pretty much instant death which is what i consider a true direct hit ) this also kills ubers faster then a smiter can wipe them

also lulz in a multiway duel because the firewalls go for such a long distance while your teleing around its true you can't be hurt by them but you have to stop at some point to attack in that moment a persons weak point is exposed

also a es sorc with maxed warmth gets there mana back and a even crazier rate then a normal sorc pretty much as long as the enemy isn't mass stacked on fire sorb/res if you name lock them first there dead unless there a light sorc then your have to be a bit/a lot more careful but a namelock should still make 1 hit possible just don't get greedy for as second or third but they can fully tank a fireball sorc till there dead

i haven' ttreid perfect gear vs perfect gear that much however for those dueling on ladder a half decent firewall sorc is pretty cheap and it costs a lot more to build something else up thats better per what you want to spend
