I have used d2 installers on xp.. not d3.
whats the problem? generally the same.

I'm not sure.
I am redownloading the Blizz downloader, hopefully it works further this time.
Can you screenshot the furthest you can get right now, after all possible downloads?

How did you get to that screen?
Whenever I woke up this morning and checked this computer (I was installing all night), all I had was a folder named "Diablo-III-8370-enUS-Installer" or something like that, which contained some files, which I did not know how to open (had to choose a program to open with, had no idea what to open them with) and one was named Launcher, is that the program to open that screen? |
you had to chose a program for "Diablo-III-8370-enUS-Installer"
or the launcher, it sounds like somewhere somethn got corrupt
search for diablo III

I saved the Blizz DLer in my documents.
Let it run.
Came back and there was a new folder with that name, and files inside it.
Sensei, I did have that folder but had no idea what program to open it with.
I deleted everything and have since been running the downloader, we'll see if everything goes right this time.

If i were you,
i would even have deleted the downloader and re download it, that take less than a minute.
Also are you up to date with your xp ?

It tooks me really long time 
I felt asleep while i was watching the download bar x)
did a 150 - 300 ko / s med speed, tooks me hours ...
With my connection i'm able to go to ~1,6 Mo / s
