PAYPAL SCAMMER ALERT 1

For any users who trade with paypal, please be on the lookout for users using a swedish paypal, there is a scammer afoot hacking into swedish paypals, and if you do business with a swedish paypal there is a great chance you will be scammed.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH PAYPAL (quoted from old sticky, by: Carepolice)

Here i´ll explain my experience with paypal, because at the moment many people asked questions about paypal.

Remember this is just my experience that I made,I dont know if its the same everytime.

I sold some D2 items via paypal to a user, 2 or 3 weeks later he recharged his money from my paypal bankroll.
After that I wrote an email to paypal and explained them :

-That I sold him items from a game over a forum
-That I can provide that he recived the items
+ If they want I can send them many screenshots from the trade

3 days later i got the money back.

So fact about paypal is:

U can recharge the 90 days later, so be careful!!
If someone recharg his money and try to scam u this way, contact paypal and show them all proof u have, that u gave him his stuff. KEEP ALL THE EVIDENCE, make the other trader confirm that he received goods from, keep track to trade topic, make screenshot of pms between you and other trader... The more proof you will have the more chance is that you will get you $ back if the other trader will try to recharge.

Feel free to share your experience with Pay Pal here!

Enjoy trading! smile

Topic related questions I received via pm:

shaggyaj wrote:
Hi, I'm selling a d2jsp acct on here and I dont do poker or any of that crap, I just have a paypal.

But I've noticed a lot of warnings about using paypal because they can chargeback or whatever it's called.

What's the best way to ensure they don't do that?

let me verify your acc, ill confirm it via pm
keep trade via pms, write in pm all details of trade, add link to trade topic and let other trader confirm trade steps. I can also watch trade via teamviewer and confirm trade via pms, after trade you both write confirm you received things that will be traded and then you keep those pms and you can show them to paypal team in case you get scammed (other trader would request cash back) they will review it and you will probably get your money back!

Another question I received via pm:
milfen wrote:
regarding paypal usage..

Is there any way to avoid getting chargeback'd?

If the buyer sends as gift, is it still possible to recharge the cash being sent?

would appreciate some tips, being safe selling fg or whatever

fed up being scammed/naiv enough to trust anyone

regards

I think its not possible to charge back when you send $ as a gift, but there is a huge fee you will pay (I think it is 10%).

milfen wrote:
hmm allright, i saw your thread, by making them write and confirm as comment when they send money looks pretty safe, but is it enough proof? Im planning to sell fg vs cash in small increments at a time.

How would you do the trades, and still feel perfectly safe?

Appreciate your help and time, thx for understanding

Have as much proof as possible and you will make scammers be afraid of beeing recognised as scammers on paypal!

Brave @ d3jsp just charged back $30. He won the case, even with my evidence. Should I email them with the evidence again, or is it over now? sad

Thanks

Someone just tried this on me. Send pay al the normal links you would submit for a scammer accusation like PM's of trade details (when you trade, make sure they say something along the lines of "I received my fg/items"), screenshots of gold logs, profiles, and any other info you have. I received my money back in less than a day. Also, in the comments area, explain how the site works and how people in general usually scam.

I'm going to throw this out there so everyone can believe what they want:

Paypal does NOT support the buying/selling of virtual items in relation to ANY game.

If you get charged back, there is MAYBE a 5% chance they will feel bad for you and refund your money.

Chances are, the user has already transferred the money from his Paypal into a bank account so you will not be able to get ahold of it.

I say it time and time again, do NOT use Paypal at all. If you want to make successful trades without having to worry about being scammed constantly, then use either:

Moneybookers
Pokerstars
Western Union
Amazon

This is coming from an experienced buyer/seller of virtual items for over 10 years with well over $20,000 in/out worth of transactions.

Either take my advice, or enjoy being scammed. Thanks.

Let me share u my experience:
One time, this kid bought close to $200 dollars worth of fg total in 2 weeks in 2-5k increments.
He charged back a week after our last trade. But I made him write on note that he received item and wasnt going to chargeback for any reason.
The chargeback claim he made was that he never made that purchase.
I email paypal, saying that i have proof of purchase if they want to see it. (dont forget to take screenshots, i used msn or aim before d3jsp had livechat)
Couple days later, he canceled the chargeback. I'm guessing paypal took my side, since on the notes he wrote he wont ever chargeback.

Experience with hackers and hacked paypal:
if u sell to a hacked paypal, chances are u aren't going to get ur money back, even with screenshots.
because the real owner really never made that purchase, and he will go to his bank or credit card company and will tell them to charge it back.
paypal will have to give them their money back.
My advice:
have them send u an email that's linked to their paypal account. on the email, they should identify themselves (Full Name on Paypal), and state how much fg they are buying and at wat price.
If you are sending first, (which i advice u don't do unless they are trusted), then have them go on teamviewer and show that the email they are using is same one as the one they use on paypal.
If you are not sending first, then after they sent money u can check if it's the same email or not.
Also u should be taking screenshots of everything.. etc.

The hacker could have hacked into their email also, and not just their paypal. but if they did, then they are breaking 2 laws. stealing paypal, and stealing identity.
U can email paypal with screenshots of the email and all the other proof. paypal should refund ur money back since u have email from the buyer saying he was buying fg. even if it was the hacker going on the email, this is more proof that u sold him fg.
if for some reason they dont refund u then ur out of luck
next time avoid using paypal, go with moneybookers. if ppl can do paypal, they can do moneybookers. moneybookers is exact same as paypal except that they dont allow chargebacks.

Also, It's mostly Swedish paypal or other european accnts that are hacked.
so avoid trading with europeans in general if u want to be absolutely safe.
NO OFFENSE to all the legit Europeans out there.... but, One bad apple does have a lasting impact :/

sorry for bad grammar, im too lazy to look over it again and edit shit.
if u have questions, pm me.
Also, i always sell fg, if ur lookin to buy, lmk ^^
