If you ever play diplomacy style maps I advise you check out HOI3 - TGS by recycled-goat. It's the only diplo of recent that I've seen really change up the gameplay.

Hoi3 is okay. Best diplo I played was Diplomatica though.

What I would recommend are RPG games, because they are very addicting once you get to a high level or you get more into the game.
