I've noticed a lot of ppl are using the shout box for a chat box, instead of using the live chat room.
Imo the shoutbox should be for people to say good things about the site or say hi..pretty much just "shoutouts" instead of full blown back and forth conversation.
Besides, we don't want new ppl to come in and see a bunch of random ramblings in the shoutbox. This also detracts from people going into the chat, and if it's empty nobody that visits the chat will stay in an empty room. I posted in the shoutbox last night that we were going to chat, and 2 minutes later we had the most members I have EVER seen in there chatting it up.. it was good times.
Just a suggestion, not trying to be a Nazi, but it's the little things that are going to make or break this site!
I would suggest regulating it for spam just like any other thread.
Thoughts?

I do. It's not that it's a huge deal, just a suggestion.
I LOVE the chat feature on this site. Something that always puzzled me as to why this was missing from d2jsp.
With people being in a clan, trading, playing arcade, etc it's nice to have one place on a site for people to congregate and talk.
"Why not use it for chat" Sounds like you answered your own question there man. Because the CHAT is for CHAT. lol

Yeah, i sort of agree with you.. A lot of ppl use it just to say stupid things... I go there just to say a few words, max 2-3 shouts, and then I leave it for other people...

Yea pretty much same here.
Have been seeing a lot more ppl in chat lately.. sweet.
Like I said right now its not a big deal, but the more members come, the more it pulls down the site as far as bandwidth is concerned.
