A lot of new guys who come here but hastily get turned off due to the unappealing visual aesthetics. Part of the reason D2jsp got so popular was because of the very user friendly and clean look the site had to offer. I think a makeover would do this site a world of good, and don't think incorporating that change would be too difficult. Even if it is a bit of work, IMO it is definitely worth it.

Thoughts?

I agree, the main reason I love d2jsp is because the forum is so simple, easy and fast to load because there are next to no images in it's theme, it's just the buttons and what not that you load and it takes 2 secs.

If this forum had a more simple layout it would be nice too.

Look at d2jsp, it doesn't even have a banner, just a title text!

Bannner is fine for me, in fact I like it and think it adds a unique touch. I'm just talking about the look of the main forum page and all the subforum pages themselves. They leave you with a real cluttered feel, I'm sure it can be managed more efficiently.

For example, the salmon colored folders on the main page to indicate to posts in that forum. In some of the subforums that's a useless feature because there are so forums within that subforum that it is not usable information unless you have limitless time to search every individual forum. People will go to the forums that they're interested in and see the new posts just by the "dark envelope" presented (which is a good feature and makes the salmon folder idea pointless).

A few fixes, like auto updating stars, a select function when you report something and other small changes would be nice.
