Not sure if it's been discussed before, but why not a trial period for all new inbounds to the site? Say something like restricting all users under 60 days from either posting in selling and trading, or unable to PM so all info goes through the trade topic (that way, people who have been on the site a little longer may give caution based on experience etc.) or even just tag the user with something like "TRIAL" in case others don't pay too close of attention. Im sure a little brainstorming would create better/more detailed suggestions

scammers would make multies and leave them idle for 60 days. And all legit newcomers (which this site really needs) would be scared away:P

Wow, look! Another Scam Prevention Topic! Jees, I never would have guessed.

If you don't trust the user, and they joined today/a week ago/whatever, don't trade them.

If they suck at speaking English, DON'T TRADE THEM.

If they seem shady/likely to scam you, don't trade them.

DO NOT USE PAYPAL. Unless, of course, you're an idiot and don't listen to me every time I've said it.

Ask Moderators/Staff/Trusted Users their opinions on the user, and have us IP Check them before you trade. (I'm most always available to help)

It's so damn simple, and people are still getting scammed. Use your brains people, think for a second before you upfront to a random.
