Arguments for removing it:
Why should trust be determined with a bunch of text?
You can make multis, spam them to 25 post then fake rep everyone, bad or negative.
You can tell someone off, then have him give you a false/bad rep that might scare future traders off, even though you are no scammer..
I only really see negative things about it at this point ^^
post what you think.. all though it doesnt really matter in the end because nothing that we suggest ever gets taken seriously  |

I dont know.. being known? Being nice and friendly..? Being here for a long time, with a good post count and no warns which could indicate that they are here just to get their postocunt up so they can spam?
Guess you need your rep spammed to really get what I mean  |

maybe thats a factor why people get scammed so often? they see 2-3 reps and go Hey ill upfront forumgold/items worth of 50-100$ to this guy because he seems GM!
It has its flaws and you cannot deny it ^^ |

well, for example, and im not making this thread just to cry about my unfair rep but take fatman420's for example. Never ever talked to the guy, and I get this ''I belive your a multi scammer''.. I mean, if I trade with a user, and he sees that he'll think oh hes a multi. Bye no trade.
and this would also save the staff from the multiple topics every week about unfair reps/reps removed

I think he wanted to point out that the reputation system is perfect and should stay as it is and we are just spawns that need to be quiet? idk, seemed so to me xD

well, check out my very first rep just when I joined the forum. "potential multi" from Cinemax. Didn't really help me trade either, but I have never cried about it =) I partially agree with you, though. The reputation system is too extensive in use. I can't think of a solution though ;p

The reputation system is used to leave notes about someone. Anyone who sends first purely because of reputations is stupid.
If someone who joined 3 hours ago has 3 reputations, that doesn't mean I'm going to send first to him. Unless I know you, you're sending first.
Just because *cough* someone else's *cough* multis keeps repping you doesn't mean we should remove the entire system.
