Martial Arts

I've done Karate for about 5 years and tae kwon do for about 8. wednesday is my first Eagle Claw Kung Fu session so i'm wondering if anyone has ever tried that specific kind of kung fu or kung fu in general. similarities/differences with the other martial arts?

I only know what Chinese movies have taught me, sorry bro. Though they've taught me that kung fu is by far superior and more cool than karate.

well the thing about karate is you're only learning martial arts, not doing a lot of other random exercises (whereas in tae kwon do you do a lot of fitness exercises too). i was told in kung fu u spend a long time meditating and doing breathing exercises. don't get me wrong i understand the importance of all that sidework but when you're paying for it you wanna get right into the action =/

ended up paying 60 bucks for meditation lessons and lots of their work revolves around weapons that nobody would ever use (and meditation)

too broke to pay for something youtube can give me. plus the "master"/owner is a fraud and claims to be this ultimate big shot but has never been outside of des moines. all in all, fail.

I am currently studying American Kenpo Karate, and Jeet Kune Do both

the stances and a lot of the hand work/foot work are very similar/exactly the same so i feel very comfortable doing both

not even ranked(white belt) in both

i also do have an orange belt in yoshukai karate from when i was like 8 years old, the only thing i retained was blocking/punching

i get to test for yellow belt in 2 weeks, and my kenpo instructor is 1 on 1, he tells me i have skill; thats all i care about with him :-P

he studies directly under paul mills

and my jeet kune do instructor is certified directly under dan insosanto

i did kung fu and got black belt in 3years
kung in chinese means time
kung fu studies every weak parts of the body

my master practiced with jet li they started @ the same time same school and teacher etc
