well there are raffle's from the arcade sometimes, you can also trade d2 items or items from any other game
and all the other ways which you already know i guess

You can't necessarily BUY stars with FG. Its like D2JSP where you can have people donate for you.
The cheapest star is 2$ USD

You can offer your FG vs stars here:

You have to donate 1$ minimum, you can't go lower, that would mean you are offering around 50-60 fg for that 1$ star.
