thats the random death which makes me laugh the most, and the death messages in the news are hilarious
like, dker died buried in the caves after becoming greedy while digging, or something like that
thats what i like of this game, the magic of text based games resides in funny events and jokes, thats part of the fun of this game

I only got to use 3 of my forest fights and died. 
The abandoned place I was doing on my last fight, and I forget the spring one. I think it was early too.
Can that druid who has the broth kill you? I've only gotten good things from him so far.

he cant, there are a lot of events that kill you, and that will piss you on your first dks, they are so hard to achieve and the random events just keep killing you, thats why most people quit this game, but after a while you get used to those events and end up with 173 dks in one char and 50 in the other

there are 4 important towns, glukmore, romar, formenya and d3jsp hall. visit the places in those towns to know why they are important
here is the most basic tip: if your current equipment is enough to kill monsters of your same level, then you dont have to buy better equipment right?, save your money and before you go and challenge your master, go and spend your saved money in the best weapon, defeat your master and do the same in the next lvl
if you do this you will have money to spend in saucys kitchen, lucky dip, cedrik (d3jsp hall inn) and the great kegs of ale (qexelcrag), cedrik is the same as kegs of ale, thats why i didnt list qexelcrag in those cities
choose dwarf in your first dks, until other races are unlocked. dwarf = more money = more buffs, its better than human and troll because having lots of buffs will make the task of getting flawless fights less defficult and the chance of getting killed in forest fight will be less probably, thing that human and troll buffs or advantages wont do

Alright, thanks. Didn't know about the saucy thing/cedrik/great kegs.
I've got a human class and a dwarf class. I bought the level 15 weapon already since I just converted my d3jsp fg to LoGD gold.
I see that people talk about mounts/squires. Do both of those stay after you do a DK? I bought a squire before I died and am waiting for a new game day to see if he'll still be there since I died.

Just look at the shape of the starting position and check the maps under it till you find the one with the x in the same place as the exit in the game. There are only a couple that have the same positioning so it works almost all the time. Worst case scenario you run into the specter and die so save it until after you use all the forest fights.

Adding to my bad luck.
Had 6 or so free travels.. Level 15, trying to find the Green Dragon. Couldn't find it in any of the cities I went to.
Then.. on my other name, did about 10 fights, got this event to play chess. Never tried it before(I don't think) and...
Something Special!
You accept the old warrior's offer. You begin to play a heated game of chess. He moves forward with a pawn, you move forward with a knight. He ends up taken that knight, but you have his queen...
Strangely, you win in under 7 moves. His jaw drops to the table. He sticks out his hand to be shook. You gladly accept his hand, but he lifts you into the air. He whips you around and slams you into a tree.
Instant death. Owned again.
