I think instead of allowing people to post any comment they please, due to the fact that if you make someone mad they can post and say you're a scammer (See my reputation)
So I suggest the use of a rating system, 5 stars that someone can rate you and it will average out the votes as you accumulate more and more so that you don't have a random asshat calling you a scammer for no reason trying to ruin your reputation on this decent forum.

You trust someone with a lot of stars, and don't trust anyone with 0-1 star 
You don't allow people to pay fg for reputation either obviously, otherwise it would defeat the purpose.

more or less, if you do a trade with someone and they were extremely gm you give them 5 out of 5 stars and if they are kind of an asshole, but don't scam you give them like 3 or 4 out of 5 etc

I can see what you mean by the reputation being a problem.
I wouldn't want that comment thats in yours to be in mine either.
I saw some cool ideas on other forums involving a 'Thanks' button at the bottom of every post you make.
Possibly having a 'Reputation' button instead of a comment box would be better.
The more hits on your 'Reputation' button the more trustworthy you are.
Just a thought. |

Yeah, I'm not saying stars is the ONLY good thing, but I figured it was a good example, and if the higher up people like the idea they can brain storm options other than stars and stuff

i think we should just do away with rep as is.
use the 2/3 rule
posts / fg / join.
join being the #1, then fg, then posts (anyone can spam)

this, and also that you can only do it once a day, so it cant get out of hand 1 person repping like 200 people

No, it would make the site alot better!
I use to run a site... andi turned off board, due to amount of working i have to do, so i wouldnt have time to dedicate my self to the board...
any it was only 1 rep per dayy

I don't know if this is already in place, but Moderators should also be able to remove bad reputations that are proven to not be true.

Yeah, definitely.
I had a guy that gave me a bad rep because I called him a multi, sure enough 3 days later he was Banned.. then he kept making multi's and giving me more bad reps.
I finally just PM'd Tram and he fixed it.. it was annoying though, lol.

He was probably so pissed because he was going to scam you, but you wouldn't give first.

This kind of offense is noticed by staff and we are working on ideas. Especially rep damage.
