Ok, so i just recently started playing starcraft. now i am not a pro at these games and most likely never will be but when i first started i always wanted a guide to explain atleast the basics and gave me a good starting idea so i decided to make one, you can ridicule all you want but i assume that if your reading this you are in the same boat as me (Extremely noobish @ starcraft lol).

Races:
Zerg(fast to attack, easy population creation(just upgrade overlords)
Protoss-(imo the most powerful, Self building buildings, Awesome troops(the thing you combine 2 templars for just rocks my socks)
Terran-
(good solid starting class, easy to understand, nukes, and goliaths(i love goliaths)

Easy race combinations:

Zerg>terran (A lot of zerg moves are directed at terrans)
Protoss>zerg(the fact that one templar can take out like 3 zerglings or 1-2 hydralisks is rather nice)

I do not know if there are anymore these are the ones i noticed.

ok, so you have your game started.

Step 1: Send out all your "workers" to mine minerals.
Step 2: Build Enough "workers" untill you have about 11-13
step 3: Build two barracks and a vespene gas thingy
step 4: train atleast 6 troops (if you are zerg, get a bunch of zerglings and maybe 1-2 hydralisks for range)
Step 5: Choose which step you want to take next
Choice 1: Send in an attack force, hoping they are not advanced and hopefully you can take out some workers and supply stuff (population).
Choice 2: Hold your troops there to fend off an invasion
Step 6: Make sure you have atleast 6 troops in your town at all times
step 7: Build the upgrade buildings(engineering bay, etc)
step 8: mine, and upgrade
step 9: construct an army
step 10: Prepare 500 Resources
step 11: Attack The enemy base, and at the same time send a worker to build another base to mine more minerals
Step 12: Continue this untill you have destroyed the oponents.

This is a nice simple, way to take on one enemy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, it pretty much all hinges on the choice you make and the ai of the computer.

But i hope this helps someone (probably wont and i most likely wasted my time)

Enjoy smile
