Yesterday i played with someone that made a map named ''7v1 HARD COMP Z'' and he told me that map making was programming. I said that its not programming if you use staredit (and btw im a programmer *with visual basic* so i know what is programming) and he answered me that i know shit because map making is programming. Am i right or too noob to see that its programming? answer the poll.

Well, I am a programmer in ASP, VB and C and I know what programming is too. The way most mapper create maps, hell no. That kid is crazy. HOWEVER, StarForge is the closest programming triggering system. It has a lot of the syntax, like action (param,param) etc.

not really when i think of programing i think of command line like c++ and cobol
i guess other things could be twisted into programming but mapmaking seems more like designing then programming |
