perhaps they are protected....then unproct them first and then u can open it....briggrin

Just need the picture from the map u can make ur own instead, with programms like BMP2SCM...

First of all, you should make your question more specific. If you start a map with SCPM(StarCraft Picture Mapper), then you need a different type of editor in order to open it. Regular StarEdit will not.

Now, its a different story if you are trying to open an already made map that's protected. If in fact you are trying to open a protected map, the editor will give you an error. This map, in order to enter, needs to be unProtected. In this case, most people would run off to use OSMAP v.2 (Open Source Mapping Project). It is the most popular map unprotector created by Clan unKnown, or just Clan (U). Although it is very popular, Clan (U) has ended that sequence and put out another even better unprotector, the Unused_Unprotector_2.
