Moving to one of the players who are underrated in the NBA, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kenrich Williams follows on for two different reasons. One is the perimeter defense, in which the 27-year-old has established some name recognition in Oklahoma. He's tough to beat in the attack and is strong in one-on-1 situations and is generally better than he's been credited for. He's in the ninth spot on the team's perimeter defense behind players like Ty Jerome and Aleksej Poku?evski which isn't a good thing.
However, he has the fifth-best 3-point percentage on the team, despite ranking 10th overall in 3-point percentage last season. He was 33.9 percent. 0.8 points per game. Williams's stats aren't 100% accurate, but his 75 overall marks a decent starting point (even even though it should to be higher than 77).
Russell Westbrook's first homecoming game with The Los Angeles Lakers did not take as planned. He began 2K23 with an average of 86. but he slowly slowed down after his uncharacteristic performance throughout the season. His former MVP of the league is now 78 overall, third-highest on the team and where he ended on 2K23. There's no doubt to suggest that he's no longer the player he was in the year 2016. but it's rather harsh to bring him down all the way down to just 78 after a single season. His shot IQ is also 25 which is tied for one of the lowest scores in the game however it's not a huge surprise.
For the sake of comparison, players who were rated 78 overall are Patrick Beverley, Westbrook's new teammate, Cole Anthony, Jakob Poeltl and rookies Paolo Banchero and Jabari Smith Jr. Perhaps Westbrook ought to have started somewhere between 80 and 83? This isn't really just a shun, it's more of an "How does he keep getting high ratings?"
Kind of snubs for other players. Porzi? is' numbers are solid, but when you look at him, it's evident he's a shell of his pre-ACL tear self. That's why his team, the Dallas Mavericks moved on from Porzi. After posting impressive figures (22.1 points, 8.8 rebound, 2.9 assists on a shooting divided) across 17 of his games for the Washington Wizards, Porzi? has increased to an 85 overall average in 2K23 despite beginning 2K23 as 84 overall.
