I'm kind of grey on the whole thing but I guess meds are allowed to do it but don't like to?
My solution is that you make a new group of mediators that specialize in these kinds of trades.
I think they would have to be verified of who they are in real life and be held responsible in some way if they decide to scam.
Of course this would have to be a voluntary position from the current meds/trusted or however the choosing of these users would go
I think this would increase the interest on this site dramatically and obviously make everyone feel a lot safer.
Keep in mind this is just a suggestion so any ideas to make this better would be encouraged and appreciated! |

So what are you saying? They should hold fg/$ in trades?
1.) risking their own jsp
2.) Risking chargeback
or are you saying they should find a better way to pick someone to be a moderator? |

Hmm I never thought about the risking their own jsp aspect
But I'm basically suggesting a specialized group of meds who only deal in fg vs $ trades
It could be required to team view the med showing u sent to him as gift?
Just spit balling here |

Here we go, this might be a decent way to do it
Both users and med join d3jsp live chat or AIM group chat
Next the user BUYING the fg sends the money to the med while being team viewed to make sure it's sent as gift
Once the med confirms payment then the user SELLING the fg sends it to the BUYER.
After the med confirms the FG is sent, he sends the money to the SELLER.
Avoids risking his/her jsp account and seems completely safe.

With eliminating the risk of their jsp account and their part being strictly on pay pal I don't see the risk. |

If people traded in BTC (bitcoins), we could mediate trades np.
fg, accounts, $$ we could mediate ANYTHING, is users started making transactions with BTC _____________________

See this is the kind of constructive criticism i'm looking for!
I don't know about bitcoins but I will look into it.
Even if we just made it an option, like if you want a med you need to use bitcoins, if not feel free to use paypal etc and not use a med.
This could definitely work and people would want to trade so much more.

What happens in the event that the buyer who sent the $ to the med charges back?? The med is at a total loss, because he/she didnt gain fg or anything, and the seller isnt going to want to cover it? These are some things i think that you need to look into.
Paypal being the primary form of payment is always a risk, ppl claiming fraud, doing trdae not even on an ip but a friends house and claim unauthorized use. |

That is where bitcoins come into the situation.
I need to look into them more but dnote seems to think we could do it on there no problem
If it turns out bitcoin can be used and no risk of charge back would you change your vote? |

youd have to find out the fluxuation of the bitcoin currency. I dont know much about it, but ive herad the swing of the worth of Bitcoin is crazy, one day worth a lot one day worth a little. But seems like a viable option, just think most ppl wont do it simply because they dont know enough about it TBH

Bit coin is something to be considered. The onlty thing there is how big of a fluxuation do you get in the value of say 1 bitcoin Vs. other currencies used to obtain them. Is it a steady flux to where the value holds at say 1-2$ a bit coin or is it one of those on monday 1 bitcoin is 1$ whereas thursday it could be worth a penny or 100$. just things ppl need to look into.
If its safer im always for safety in these type of trade settings, just think ppl need to get more informed on bitcoins

(My 2000th' post, like the 1999 before it, it's aimed at making this site better)
SOLUTION TO THE MEDIATOR ISSUE
Start trading with BTC (Bitcoins). It's a crypto-currency. The transactions are NOT reversible.
For example:
Seller has a thread selling fg.
Buyer wants $20 worth, so he purchases $20 worth of BTC.
Now either trader can contact a Med. The Buyer send the BTC to the Med. The Med informs the seller he has received the payment. The Seller now sends the fg to the Buyer. When the Buyer receives, the Med will release the BTC to the seller.
BTC are an EXTREMELY liquid currency. You can exchange it back into any fiat currency just as easily as you bought it.
This method of mediation can be used for all the problem trades the S&T is currently having. (accounts/fg/$$ trades)
What are Bitcoins? http://bitcoin.org/en/
How can I purchase them? https://localbitcoins.com/
Any questions just ask me!
