Account settings

Close email will need password ect.

Once that is done wait Approximately 5 minutes.

Next step is to go to hotmail.com ---> Signup and recreate the exact email name( Since it was closed name will be available again to be recreated)

This is 100% way to make sure you and only you know ur security information for ur account. Since u get to recreate it completely with your own information.

last time i tried this it says it wasn't available and i read somewhere that you had to wait a year for the email to be available.
I'll go try it though, maybe it has changed.

To deactivate your Hotmail account, click Close account. All stored messages are permanently deleted and incoming email is refused.

Your email address is reserved for 270 days after closing your account. After that time, it may become available for other people to use.

To reactivate your account once you have closed it, sign in within 270 days.

Tried with a 8year old email, do not work

For this to work you must havnt receive any email on this account for 1year and more.

So totally inactive for 1 year account will work... either way it wont
