From acouple threads I've read on the other JSP, it seems to me like Blizz is trying to replace unique character names with using the Battletag more often, even in games.
Meaning you would choose your own char name, but it wouldn't be a big variable or seen very often, such as it was in D2.
Anyone have any input about that? I think it's pretty wack. It's just a name, but I don't care. It's a fun part in the game, and I like the unique aspect of it. Plus battletags are extremely ugly.
I hope it isn't true, that'd be a let down for me.

I saw someone quote bashiok, and he said something like "We hear you out, blahblahblah we agree blahblahblah" over the topic
Not sure how they plan on changing or implementing change or even if they WILL change anything, but I seriously hope they do.

i hope not.. because in d2 have a good name was almost as important as the gear lol. sexy char gatta have a sexy name.
but, i didnt really read over the battle tag shit, can someone answer this;
Thought i read that other players could use your battletag name OR battletag id number to interact.
which i take as, someone can search Dnote, #1407 or Dnote#1407.
curious if the#1407 shows up everywhere next to Dnote... cuz that shits fugly

battletag names are NON-unique
So, I can make another battle tag and name it "dnote"
The only thing that is unique is your number.
I'm thinking the number will always show up in games and as your account name, due to impersonation problems.

But That was a part of d2 that was a kin important for me as you add to find an unique name.
