Okay so I decided that this might help out some of you folks that are having trouble with scratched disks and do not want to pay any money for a disk cleaner.
my simple cheap solution is Mayonnaise. Yes Mayonnaise. No doubt sounds sketchy. Well if you want to test it, scratch a disk of no importance and see if it works on your computer. Then if it doesn't spread Mayonnaise on it and then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Dry with a soft cloth, something that won't make it worse.
If this solution does not work, try a disk cleaner and if that doesn't work...time to get a new disk.
Hopefully this clears up some problems.
