God doesn't exist. God is bullshit or mis interrupted Alien being/beings. If god existed why are females constantly raped, children are molested by sick minided human beings, and homosexuals/other strange humans exist? If God existed it would put a stop to all of these bizzare acts dry

After-life possibly exists, but God is a bunch of bullshit. a realm like Heaven (For Good people) and Hell (Evil people) would make sense due to dimonic sick minded humans.. I'm not going agree with the "Holy Bible" though sleep

Then we are talking fate, predetermination. Yuck. I don't know how deep you wanted to dig on this... but I'll bite.

Either a higher intelligence/power is sadistic enough to afflict the universe (or at least not interfere) with suffering that gets worse each day, or there is nothing and nobody to blame but ourselves. Personally, I don't look to forces outside of the system and experience we call life, I take responsibility for the things I do and allow to be done. Which, I suppose, means I have a really bad impression of humanity as a whole. We do this to ourselves.

So, I was taking a few classes a few years ago, two being philosophy and social criminology (or something like that). Oddly enough, these two came together in an unexpected way. In philosophy, it was mentioned that if there was truly "God" or any other omnipotent force that dictates everything, then free will would be impossible. Mind, this is not an argument for or against religion rather a statement of free will vs determinism. Without free will, there cannot be "intent". Without intent, no crime can legally occur. It would come down to punishing people for actions or omissions that they had no control over. In fact, to punish anyone would be to either oppose god or that god intends people to commit atrocities and others to commit further atrocities to compliment them. "Two wrongs do make a right."

No matter how you slice it, the end result comes out to be that god is a douche of epic proportions. Sure, one can argue that it is up to us to prove our worth to the kingdom of heaven. We are on earth as a test to our immortal soul, yadda yadda. But the moment "God has a plan", "God works in mysterious ways", (in the case of death) "It was his/her time to go", free will and any chance of redeeming ourselves is out the proverbial window. The trouble is, I have a hard time finding a religious discussion without one of those phrases, which leads right into my conclusion: Religion is not the basis of morality, nor does the existence of God affect anyone in anyway anytime.

Do good deeds. Be a good person. Take responsibility and pride in your words and actions. Either you absolutely deserve to be happy with yourself, or you are destined to be happy, and you wouldn't know the difference.

I don't subscribe to religion, yet I consider myself quite spiritual. Organized religion is a support group as far as I can determine, which means it holds great value, just not as the ultimate answer that some people claim. God can do his/her/its thing, I'll do mine, and there will be no grudges. Hope I didn't step on any toes here, or blind someone with the wall of text.

Nothing is easy for any one.
To feel any thing but happiness is just another feeling; we are not destined to be happy all of the time even if we strive for it. We are born into a cruel world we try and make better, and then we leave this world to enter the unknown.

In the end you will be content if you did the right things.

Everybody has their beliefs, personally I cannot decide whether it was an explosion that brought us here or somebody/thing with such great powers made us. Both sound ridiculous to me but hey, were all here and this is how life is going to be so just live it to the fullest smile

The fact there is an earth, humans, animals, life period. Is enough to make me believe anything is possible. Why not believe? It doesn't hurt you. You can't explain to me why there is planets and life. So why try to explain why there isn't a God. I'm sure it's just not possible to prevent every bad thing from not happening, or for God to control every rapist etc.
