It is being abused too much. You used to be able to leave negative reps, but that was even worse

No

Its very usefull to check if someone is a trusted trader or what ever

In my opinion just use it in case of trading with someone and telling about the trade as ebay reps

I think no, too.

Much people look at them to see if they can trust a user or not.
I think the abusing can be handled now because you add a forum for this.

Yes Sm and Mods should get the power to remove reps as it is suggested this would be helpful.

Agreed.
I think Senior Mods should be able to remove reputations.

I agree about the FG part but without rep you'll have a bunch of vouch threads etc getting spammed instead. Reputation is just a place to click to see if this user is trusted or not. I think you just need more people to help with moderating how its being used.

i disagree with this completely. the reputation isnt a set in stone thing, think about it... when some random person jumps in a trade thread to vouche someone do you immediately trust the person? do you immediately give the person 100$ first versus a shako? no, you still follow certain guidelines. all reputation does is creates an area where users can go to see if a person has been a good person in the past. the present is unknown so untill it happens we cannot plan for scammers or stuff like that. I can name a certain mod that scammed a whole bunch then left. should we get rid of moderators because the system was abused?

all in all, leave the rep system. just make the little report button on it actually do something. have it bring up a little box where you can explain why you want that reputation removed. then this can be sent to a page or something where senior moderators can delete the rep or leave it. boom no more problems.

No, don't remove.

Just make the mods be able to remove rep, MOD/SMS both.

Make everything A LOT easier.

I believe it would be appropriate to leave rep.
Abusing it should not be the issue, Peoples opinions are peoples opinions.
When someone posts crap rep, they usually don't last long on this forum anyhow which litigates that their perception or rep on that member is worthless.
Scores of people do use this for their trading, it's essentially much like a guide.

Nobody should ever 100% trust someones rep, it should always serve as a reference.

As the_pillo mentioned a certain mod, well police officers and our own U.S military hero's commit bad crimes too, however there are alot or really great officers out there.

I think the best slogan of them all in this situation is stated as " don't judge a book by it's cover "

No trades should be considered 100% safe anywhere on the internet or in real life.

One must always weigh the outcome based on the situation and money at stake.

As always, for big trades Trade legit, log every event and contact info possible including emails and id's including pm's with specific info regarding the trade itself.

I think we should remove it. People abuse it and give crap reps. Some people
also pay fg for reps and give rep 4 rep to seem more trusted than they are.

Leave the rep.

It does help. All it takes is for you to know someone that has given Rep to tell if its genuine ...

Easy fix is to allow the user to delete or hide his own rep posts.

I love what you just said,

Do what he says and allow the user to hide/delete his rep.
