What about a thing to see the last 10-15 threads posted on? It'll help members see which threads are actively being discussed and what was being posted on (Possibly filter out the market section from this)? An example if you are not familiar with what I mean.. It's just a random example of a forum I use periodically, please excuse any content.

Next, it seems like a lot of the recent forum activity comes from the market place. Many users seem to post in the market, and nothing else? Posting gives you forum gold.

I was told any post you make = 0.1 FG.

I feel like if you required FG to post in the market section, it may increase posting activity around here? 0.1 FG to Reply to a market thread, and 0.2 FG to post a market thread. I guess the downside to this is people may stop using the market or the site? But it really isn't that hard to make a post in another section so you are able to post in the market section. It may generate spam as well, but yolo. Additionally, you could add a "Special" or "Forum" item to the Shops, called "Unlimited Market Posting"

For X amount of FG, such as 100 FG, 250 FG, or X amount of FG, you will no longer need FG to post in that section. So in theory, if you plan on using the market section a lot, this will save you FG in the long run.

I don't even know if something like this would be possible to implement, but I know the "Recent Threads" thing would be fairly easy. It could go under the shoutbox, or on the top of the forum? With a collapsible feature for people who don't want it expanding their page.

That's a good idea to have a place to see all new posts from any section. Paying for it's use wouldn't work here, there just isn't enough activity it would drive too many of the few people here away. But in turn create more regulars who invested in this process, still that won't be healthy for this sites model.

The folders turn red when there is new posts in the section that you didn't see. It works well enough for me
