To think about.

Have you been young? Did you use MSN?

A lot of people do have an old and forgotten email. A more sofisticated way to scam is to find information and collect information about different people. Collect the emails and with time recreate them.

This is not possible at gmail since they keep their email accounts forever, but hotmail does not, hotmail tend to remove old email accounts after an inactive period of 180 days.

A lot of people would say that it does not matter. But it actually does. Even if you have changed your password there might come some of your own personal emails to this hotmail account from which a scammer could get a lot of information about yourself, including your other passwords.

And a patient scammer would actually take a pen and paper and draw the information about you like a tree to get to you... depending on how worthfull you are ofc.

Let us say he gets your full name from this hotmail, with this name he could find you on google and possible your next email, and guess what? You are on his big list full of emails while he patiently waiting for these emails to expire.

Being scammed is only a question about time, everybody will get scammed sooner or later.

I myself have never scammed, but I know a lot about it because my closest friends from d2 are all scammers.

The only working solution to this issue is to totally change your password at least once a year and use a safe email provider, I would recommend gmail.

A thumb rule is that a fresh user is harder to scam then an oldschooler.
