PostPosted: 03 Jan 2011 06:29 pm    Post subject: Guide To Multiple Bots And Diablo Windows!!!

Run Multiple Diablo 2 with or without programs!

On the internet I see a lot of people posting questions asking how to run multiple versions of diablo 2, some of them even offering forum gold or $PayPal$ for the most efficient methods, I myself have even helped people do this for forum gold.

I myself feel that some information should be shared free and publicly, and it is the services themselves that should be sold. Public School Cafeteria lunch should be free, Private schools should HELP pay educational funding, so to speak.

So I wrote this guide to give you not only a step by step walk through on running multiple bots/versions of diablo 2, but I also am providing you with the foundation, to create and hone your own personal method of your own! I do not actually use any of these methods, I combine Method 1 and Method 3. But I run 8x bot versions of d2 on one secondary Windows Username, and my primary username for item sales/delivery/overall computer uses.

So here goes some solid, relatively "Safer" ways to run multiple versions of Diablo 2

Known Method: 1
Name: Windows Method
Descriptors: Windows based method
using multiple users to bypass the D2 window check
Difficulty: 4
Ban Factor: 1
Basic Requirements: Multiple copies of D2 on hard drive and Multiple windows users on PC.

First, You will need multiple copies of Diablo 2 on your hard drive, there are various methods to do this, I simply will provide what I feel is easiest and most convenient.

To do this you must first install D2/Exp. Pack with your first set of D2/xpac keys, this should be self explanatory as most people who would be seeking this guide, would have at least played d2 a few times.

After you have your first copy of D2/Xpac Installed on your PC, you have to remove it. There are a few ways to do this.

Usually, I increase the size of my Recycle Bin which can be done by opening your Recycle Bin properties, and increasing the % of your hard drive allocated to the Recycling Bin, make sure the % of your hard drive more than enough to hold your D2 folder temporarily, Delete your diablo 2 folder and send it to the Recycling Bin.

Now that you have a full installation of Diablo 2/xpac in your Recycling Bin, windows will not recognize the file, and you are free to install a second copy of D2/Xpac on your hard drive.

You can also temporarily remove Diablo 2 folder from your hard drive by storing it temporarily on a disk/flash drive

Install your secondary copy of D2/Xpac on your hard drive, move it to your desktop, and rename it.

Restore Diablo 2 from your Recycling Bin back to its original install location, and cut and paste it to your desk top, rename it something other than what you renamed previous versions of Diablo 2

You should now have 2 separate versions of D2/Xpac with two separate cd-key sets on your desk top, both renamed.

Secondly, for the second step; You will need to create windows users on your PC

If you already know how to create windows user accounts, create one for the new version of D2/Xpac you want to run, and then skip to the Final Step.

This method varies pending on your windows version, but I do a quick walk through on the windows XP/ Vista method for creating multiple users on your Windows PC.

First open your control panel, if your control panel is not already in classic view, change your control panel to classic view there should be a side bar the gives you the option of Windows Xp/Vista or classic view; If not you should be able to change it in your control panel folder options or properties.

Once you have your control panel open in classic view, open the "Users" or "User Accounts" application. In the very first "Users/User Accounts" application window, there should be a option to create a new account, click this, create an account name, choose the account type, and set your password if you wish.

Finally, you should have one diablo 2/xpac folder for each cd-key set you intend to use, and a windows user account for each version of diablo 2 you intend to run. You can repeat the above steps as many times as you like for as many users as battle.net will allow in one game(4), or as many times as you feel like your PC will handle.

In order to use these version, you simply have to cut and paste one of the Diablo 2 folders from your primary desktop where you installed from, to the desktop you created souly for the use of diablo 2, one copy per windows user desktop. (1 user account per d2 version)

Now, to run multiple Diablo 2's you simply, log into one user account, start d2, do whatever start your bot, go into a perm game, mule, trade whatever. Then when you need a secondary version of diablo 2, simply go to your start menu, click switch users, change to your secondary windows user account(s), and load it up as you would on any normal desktop.

Since each desktop is independent from the other, the diablo 2 check will not recognize d2 versions on other users on the pc, and the check will be bypassed,

Vuala

Known Method: 2
Name: Isolation Program Method
Descriptors: Use 3rd party programs to isolate your diablo 2 windows from eachother
Difficulty: 3
Ban Factor: 2
Basic Requirements: Multiple copies of D2 on hard drive and Sandboxie, or another program isolation utility.

First you must again create multiple Diablo 2 Folders using your different cd key sets(refer to Step 1 Method 1)

Now that you have multiple versions of D2/Xpac Installed on your hard drive, you will need sandboxie. Sandboxie can be found on download.com or nearly any other downloading resource out there. To protect myself, I am opting not to provide a copy in any way shape or form, it is nearly my suggestion and you could in fact substitute other programs that isolate/proxy one program from another on the same desktop.

Sandboxie is a pretty self explanatory tool, you download it, install it; Once you have it installed go to the Sandboxie controls, and "Create a Sandbox" name this whatever you like, I myself put Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Diablo 3 for my sandbox names just for organization's sake. Create a sandbox for each version of D2 you intend to run.

Once you have However many d2 versions you will be running, and a sandboxie for each version, right click your first D2.exe or game.exe in your first version of D2's folder, you will notice a new right click option "Run Sandboxed" Select this, then it should pop up and ask you which sand box to use, use the sandbox that you have created for this said version 1.

To open a second version of d2, go to the secondary d2 folder, right click the d2.exe or game.exe, select run sandboxed, and open it in a DIFFERENT sandbox.

Vuala, sandboxie has isolated the windows from eachother, as well as your normal desktop, allowing you to isolate a d2 window for each d2 folder/cdkey/sandbox combo, and it also allows you to open a version of diablo 2 without sandboxing (normal windows mode)

Sandboxie can also be used to proxy diablo 2 so you can run more version of diablo 2 in one game than battle.net would usually allow; But that is an entirely different process, which i do not partake in myself just thought I would bring it to attention.

Known Method: 3
Name: The Bot Method
Descriptors: D2nt/ maybe d2bs method (never used BS but i've heard they work exactly the same way)
Difficulty: 3
Ban Factor: 3
Basic Requirements: Multiple copies of D2, or multiple cdkey files in same install, and d2nt 2.8+ only

First you must either have multiple d2 installs, or multiple cd key files in the same d2 folder.

You can again use the above method(s) from Step 1 of Method 1 in this guide to create multiple d2 version folders, or you can opt to use a cd key creator to create secondary cd-key files, and paste them into your original single install of diablo 2

To create multiple cd-key files you can download various utilities from the internet, that create cd-key files for diablo 2, most of them are self-explanatory, and simply ask for the owners name, classic key, xpac key and then the file is created.

I myself suggest Serby's Cd-Key Maker, it just seems to be the one that works for me, you can find one however you see fit.

Once you have created Multiple d2 installs, or added the necessary secondary cd-key sets to your original d2 folder, proceed to the Secondary step.

Secondly, with your installed version of d2nt(i refuse to provide this do not even ask), open d2nt manager, Create a profile for each version of diablo you intend to run, click the first version, click edit, click the browse button next to auto-detect on my version it is titled "...", browse your computer and select the game.exe file from your first version of diablo 2 if using multiple versions, or your only version if using multiple key files.

After you have pathed the game.exe, this first d2nt manager profile will be your original d2 install keys, or your first version of d2 if using the multiple versions method. Now, while still in the profile options tab go down to "Entry Point" and change from "NTBot.ntj", to "Loader Only" DO NOT select NTMap.ntj as this will supposedly get you insta-banned keys, i have never tried it and am not going to guinea pig myself to test..

Click okay to save the profile settings, it might ask you to fill out minimum information if you have not already, do so.

With the first profile highlighted if you like click run, make sure it all works; it should load d2 normally and stay at the title menu screen, you are free to use the game freely however you like.

Now, go to your secondary d2nt profile, open the profile settings and...

...If you are using the multiple d2 installs method, select the browse pathway button again, and browse to your secondary install folder, and select the SECONDARY DIFFERENT game.exe than your first d2nt profile. Change the "Entry Point" to "Loader Only", and click "Ok" to save.

...If you are using the secondary cd-key file method, browse your computer and path d2nt to your should-be original and only game.exe, change the "entry point" to "Loader Only" and then go to the line directly below the pathway titled "Cdkey" and fill in the cdkey file name CaSe-sEnSiTiVe including the .Mpq, .MPQ, .mpq, or whichever the file extension is into the line. Click "Ok" to save.

Now highlight your secondary d2nt profile, and click run to start diablo. Diablo 2 should open the same as the first version of d2 did, staying at the title screen but you are free to again use the game however you see fit, log on to diablo 2 with both versions on diablo 2 running, join the same game, self-mule, self-rush, whatever.

You can also run multiple bots, or any combination of bots/loaded windows, by re-opening yor d2nt profiles and changing the "Entry Point" from "Loader only" back to "NTBot.ntj", and clicking "Ok" to save. Pressing run will load that specific cd-key/profile set in whichever "Entry Point" you select, allowing you to either use the d2 window, or let the bot run and use another window/run bots on multiple windows.

Vuala, I have just completely expandanded your gaming potential.

*Note: If you open the system properties on your diablo 2 shortcut and add " -w" 'space-W' it will open Diablo 2 in windowed mode*

*Note: some of these methods also work on WoW, or RoM, as well as many other client based games

*Note: D2nt "Loader Only" is not to be confused with other "Loader" programs*

*Note: it is quite possible that any and all of these methods could get you banned, as the game was not intended to be played with multiple versions when created, also any and all programs suggested in this guide are just that, "Suggest"ions, and can be substituted for other programs these are just simply the programs that i see to be "Safest", but still not to be confused with "Safe" use at your own risk, as you would with any other 3rd party programs, and not all of these programs require 3rd party programs, so I WILL most suggest, Method 1, with the Ban Factor Risk: 1*

*USE THIS INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK*

Great guide. Very helpful to people that do not know how to properly bot with multiple instances at the same time. Thanks for taking the time to write this out.
